Thousands of folks hit the roads Christmas day, but thanks to the snow and slippery conditions there were a few speed bumps along the way.
Mid-morning officers reported slick spots on the bypass causing a few slide-offs. South Bend Police reported about five fender benders. Luckily, it was mostly mild on the Toll Road Wednesday. They only saw one vehicle slide-off into a guardrail, but it turned into a different story at mile marker 112.
Two people were taken to the hospital after an accident involving two semi-trucks and a car in LaGrange County, all thanks to the very slick conditions.
All of this doesn't even compare to the thousands of people in Southeast Michigan still without electricity after a weekend ice storm knocked out service.
Crews from several different states have come together to work around the clock to restore power to more than 130,000 customers who were still without power Christmas morning.
Some say these folks could be left without power until as late as Sunday.
