Preparations are underway as new Indiana laws are set to take effect Tuesday.

One new measure allows Hoosiers to keep guns in their cars at school parking lots, as long as they're locked up and hidden from sight.

Before this law passed, it spurred heated debate in the general assembly.

Opponents said easing gun restrictions could lead to more school shootings.

But supporters wanted to protect parents from breaking the law when they bring guns with them to pick up their children.

Students still aren't allowed to keep guns in cars without specific permission.

Venders getting ready for the state fair get to include alcohol sales in their preparations.

For the first time since 1947, fairgoers will be able to consume beer, wine and liquor.

That means North Carolina now holds the only state fair with an alcohol ban.

The Indiana State Fair begins August 1.
