The third annual Blues and Ribs Festival kicked off at Coveleski Stadium Saturday afternoon, hosted by the South Bend Parks and Recreation department.

Live blues bands will take the stage throughout the afternoon and evening, starting at 2:30 p.m. with Kalamazoo-native J.R. Clark and ending with headlining artist the Fabulous Thunderbirds.

Smoked ribs and other delicious foods were trucked in from eight local restaurants. Eight local restaurants are serving up variety of food from ribs and brisket to nachos and chips. And the day's proceeds go to the future planning for Miracle Park, a playground facility for special needs individuals.

Gates open at the Cove at 2p.m., bands will hit the stage at 2:30 p.m.
