Sentences issued in witness retaliation beating case

DOWAGIAC Three men who beat up a witness in a home invasion case have learned the consequences for their actions.

According to The Herald Palladium, 20-year-old Tyquil Rashed Douglas has been sentenced to 18 months to 10 years in prison, for retaliation against a witness and assault with intent to do great bodily harm.

The victim had testified against Justin Young, who was found guilty of multiple felonies, including home invasion in Dowagiac, in February 2013.

Three friends of young's then beat up the victim, kicking him in the face multiple times. Young's brother, Terron Young, was previously sentenced to three years in prison, and a cousin, Darius Wilson, was sentenced to 2 and a half years.
