Senator Donnelly gives first speech on Senate floor

He's appeared on C-SPAN before but not giving a speech as an U.S. Senator from Indiana. Wednesday Joe Donnelly gave his maiden speech on the senate floor.

Senator Donnelly gave a ten minute speech, it was his first floor speech on the Senate floor. He spent most of it talking about the need to create more jobs in the Hoosier state.

He said getting a job benefits both Hoosier companies and Hoosier workers.

With some help, Hoosiers can benefit from a better education and companies can get the skilled workers they need.

Donnelly continued to say, “You can't expect a good job with good pay if you can't bring skills to the table.”
He briefly mentioned his participation in a Bipartisan Americas Work act, which essentially places priorities on certain training programs.
