A semi loaded with beer rolled over early Monday morning, closing the left lane of I-65 northbound at the 237 mile marker.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver was heading north on I-65 in the left lane when he went to adjust the vehicle's radio.
This caused the semi to drift off the roadway. The driver overcorrected to the right and lost control of the semi. It went into the grassy median where it rolled onto the driver's side and slid approximately 200 feet.
The driver, Khurshid A. Makhmudov, 31 of Vancouver, Washington, was taken to a hospital with a laceration to his forearm. He was cited for unsafe lane movement.
The semi was loaded with bottles and cans of beer. The top of the box trailer split open after rolling over and a portion of the load was loss in the median.
The beer will have to be off-loaded onto another trailer before it can be up-righted.
