Traffic along the Indiana Toll Road was backed up earlier today after a Fed-Ex semi crashed into a guardrail.
At around 10:30 a.m. near mile marker 62, police say a double-trailer truck was heading east when it swerved into the media and crashed into the guardrail. Part of the truck smashed through the barricade and could be seen hanging over the edge of the Toll Road overpass.
Thankfully, the driver was not seriously injured in the crash and was able to exit the cab on his own. Officials however, do not know what caused him to swerve into the median in the first place.
County Road-900 East was closed just underneath the Toll Road as officials worked to pull the trailed completely back onto the highway overpass.
Toll Road traffic was also restricted to one lane going in each direction while crews cleaned up the estimated 150 to 175 gallons of fuel that spilled during the crash.
