Chillier temps did not stop community activists from gathering outside of the Morris Performing Arts in South Bend Sunday, as the St. Joseph County Republican Party hosted a Second Amendment Rally.
Hoosiers were invited from all over the Northern Indiana region to take part in the event, and hear several speakers rally for the cause, including Congress Woman Jackie Walorski, radio talk show host Casey Hendrickson and Elkhart County Sheriff Brad Rogers
Organizers say the event was not meant to be a partisan one, rather one where patriots gather to protect their freedoms.
"The Constitution is not partisan,” said Deborah Fleming the chairman of the St. Joseph County Republican Party. “The Constitution is for all the citizens of the United States. And we fall under that category of citizens of the United States, and so we feel that it's important to support the Constitution and as a community we should all support the Constitution."
Organizers were expecting anywhere from 60 to 100 people to show up and support the cause.
