As the temperature starts to heat up, so does activity at Unity Gardens.
Students from St. Joseph High School headed out to the garden on Prast Boulevard for the Saturday Volunteer Day.
Along with that there will also be a kid's class every Saturday at 10 a.m. There is no cost and no need to register, just show up.
“We create areas for them they have their own little garden space that they garden,” says Mitch Yaciw the Unity Gardens manager. “It becomes a place for them to just come and hang out, and just enjoy the garden.”
A new Unity Garden also opened Saturday at the corner of Chicago and Washington Streets.
