Sanctuary at St. Paul's honors 70 veterans

Dozens of veterans were also honored Monday in South Bend at the Sanctuary at Saint Paul's.

Miller's Vets helped conduct ceremonies, honoring over 70 veterans who live at Saint Paul’s.

The residents also sang patriotic songs that brought back memories from decades ago.

Janet MacElroy was presented a flag for her dedication to the country and her service at home.

MacElroy's husband served as a marine and her two sons, two daughters and brothers also served in the military.

“I think of these parents with men overseas today, said Joe Doran, a Navy Veteran. “How hard it is the responsibility of raising those children, income, finance and so forth. All you people who are in a position to help them in anyway, please do”
