The community is invited to a free event going on over the weekend. The Michiana Science and Technology Center (MSTCi) is hosting its 3rd fall Expo, "STEM Opportunities in our Community: A Blast for all."

The goal is to make STEM education, business and community organizations more visible in Michiana through discovery and hands-on applications.

According to organizers, in Indiana, there are 3 times as many technical jobs as there are people to work them. Nation-wide, that number increases to 5 times as many.

The expo is meant to create awareness for a science center that MSTCi wants to build in South Bend.

The expo is going on Saturday from 1-5 p.m. at Union Station in South Bend.
