SBSC hosted Prep Rally Saturday

While some students focus on just hitting the books while in high school, there's also the option to get some hands-on career training long before graduation day.

The South Bend Community School Corporation hosted a Prep Rally all to showcase the 23 college and career pathways that students can take advantage of. From culinary arts to dental careers, these students learn by doing.

Saturday morning, families got to take a closer look at all the programs that are offered at no cost.

“We have programs that provide not just state certifications but also industry certifications that are the ticket to employment,” explains Laura Marzotto the Director of Adult Career and Technical Education. “For instance, certified nursing assistant; once students have achieved that certification they go right out to employment.”

To participate students must be going into their junior year.
