South Bend, Ind. A 27-year-old South Bend man is in serious but stable condition after a shooting in the 3500 block of West Western Ave. in South Bend.

Police say 27-year-old James Carter called police from the parking lot of Rick's Mart around 7:15 Saturday night. Several bullet casings were found around the building, which was formerly known as Munchie Mart.

Police have no suspects and recovered no weapon. They also have no reason to believe it was gang related.

Neighbor Anthony Younger heard the shots from his home.

"I heard like firework sounds," Younger said. "But I never stepped out to investigate anything but it just sounded like fireworks. I see a lot of shell casings up there -- that's kinda wild."
