Road crews working to repair MIshawaka sinkhole

Crews are working to repair a sinkhole that formed in the middle of a Mishawaka road.

The intersection of Lasalle Avenue and Christyann Street will be closed until noon on Monday while the city's sewer maintenance department fixes the problem.

It was shut down yesterday afternoon after a Michiana woman nearly drove her car straight into the six-foot-wide hole. She narrowly avoided what would have been about a five-foot plunge.

Workers launched a camera into the sewer line to see if it had broken and caused the ground to give way.

Drivers should pay attention to all signs in the area and use caution while the sewer repairs are underway.
