Starting Monday, State Road 23 will be closed between Jacob Street and Woodward Avenue, just northeast of the Five Points intersection in South Bend.
Crews are working on a new water main.
Traffic will be detoured to Eddy Street, Jefferson Blvd. and Ironwood Dr. This closure will last through late June.
Still, businesses along this stretch of the road will remain open. Both Parisi's and the Boy Scouts of America Lasalle Council will be accessible via Edison Road to S.R. 23. Drivers are instructed to go around the initial barriers to make it to the business parking lots.
And make plans for a new route if you take Douglas Road.
A stretch of that road along the north side of campus will close Tuesday from Ironwood to State Road 933.
If you're one of the thousands who drive that way you'll need to take a detour on Cleveland Road. This closure is expected to last 30 days.
