A special monument was dedicated in South Bend on Friday.
It's meant to honor the horses at "Reins of Life" who help people with disabilities.
Reins of Life is a therapeutic riding center for people with disabilities.
Carl Kay, the owner and president of Car Kay Memorials worked with his craftsman to create the piece for the center's property.
“It's incredible to put into words. It's got to come from your heart and it came from our hearts,” said Kay. “Michaelene, I and our staff, our artist and everyone who works with us. We felt this was a meaningful organization. We need to recognize the importance of the horses out here that have served this wonderful property.”
Reins of Life provides 3000 hours of therapeutic horseback riding lessons for 500 riders each year and also has a mini-horse visitation program.
