This summer, the city of South Bend will transform into an obstacle course for daring participants in the Urban Adventure Games.
Early registration is now open for the family/junior, open, and elite divisions of the 5th annual games.
The race takes teams of two throughout the city, guided by a secret map to various activities and tasks.
Participants have the option of three routes, a “fun-paced” race filled with silly and challenging checkpoints, a more difficult “fast-paced” race for those willing to take part in more grueling physical and mental checkpoints, and a junior “friendly-pace” race for kids ages 13-17.
Some of the challenges include zip lining and rafting down the East Race.
Last year 400 teams competed in the Urban Adventure, early registration for the 2013 competition is open now through May 31. However, anyone interested in signing up later can do so until late registration closes on July 26.
