Justice may be served to a man accused of raping a woman over the weekend in Warsaw.

On Saturday night, Mar. 20, Warsaw Police responded to a call from a woman who said she had been assaulted and raped near Fort Wayne Ave., near the city’s downtown.

The victim told police she was on her way to meet friends at the McDonalds on Detroit St. when she noticed a man, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, following her.

She says when he caught up with her he forced her in between houses on Fort Wayne Ave. and raped her.

After receiving the call, police searched the area and received a tip that a possible suspect, Anthony Fulton, 24, was staying at two houses just north of where the incident took place.

When police first made contact with Fulton they arrested him on initial charges of possession of what they believed to be synthetic cannabinoids. Further investigation gave police the probable cause necessary to arrest him for rape and criminal deviate conduct by force.

Fulton is being held at the Kosciusko Co. Jail on $50,000 bond.
