A single pump's been turned back on at the former New Energy ethanol plant.
According to Mayor Pete Buttigieg's office, the city reached an agreement with the outgoing owners of the facility Friday afternoon.
The pump will push about 4 million gallons of water out of the ground each day.
Since New Energy closed in November, about two dozen residents have reported problems with flooding and mold in their homes.
When it was operational, New Energy's pumps pushed about 6.2 million gallons out of the water everyday.
The Department of Public Works will continue to monitor the groundwater table.
It could take several days before residents will notice a difference in their homes.
