Kids in the area experienced something completely different Thursday, The Irish Experience.
The Experience was held at the Martin Luther King Junior Center, providing kids with all kinds of sports and games.
The program was put on by the Notre Dame Athletic Department and the Alumni Association, and is designed to help kids learn sportsmanship and integrity through athletics.
Members of the University Youth Sports Program and a couple of athletes from Notre Dame attended the event, which Youth Sports Manager Kevin Dugan says is great experience.
“The program as a whole is really unique and it is part of our Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick's vision to really use the Notre Dame Athletic Department as a platform of positive social impact in our community and beyond,” explained the Youth Sports Manager Kevin Dugan.
The Irish Experience comes to an end next Sunday but will be hosting more events later on this fall.
