Indianapolis, Ind. An honor guard has carried the flag-draped casket of a slain Indianapolis police officer into Bankers Life Fieldhouse ahead of his funeral.

Dozens of officers saluted as the casket of 51-year-old Officer Perry Renn was taken from the hearse following a procession from a funeral home to the downtown arena Friday morning.

Several city and state dignitaries are among those expected to speak during Friday's funeral for Renn, who officials say died Saturday night after being shot three times by a man armed with an AK-47 assault rifle.

The funeral will be followed by a procession traveling about 11 miles through the city to Crown Hill Cemetery, where Renn will be buried in its Heroes of Public Safety section.
