A Cassopolis man is heading to prison after being convicted of drunk driving nearly a dozen times.
47-year-old Russell Paul Price received his 11th conviction, and now faces 40 months to five years behind bars.
Reporting partners at the Herald Palladium say Price has already served time once for drunk driving.
The latest incident occurred Dec. 3 at Walton Road and River Street in Buchanan.
Berrien County Trial Court Judge Dennis Wiley increased the standard sentence of 23 months because of those prior convictions, saying “The only thing I can do is to take you out of the community as long as I can."
Price says he attended alcohol counseling and was on medications for a period, but couldn't afford it anymore.
He was also sentenced to concurrent terms of 90 days for possession of marijuana and 180 days for driving with a suspended license.
Assistant Prosecutor Kelly Travis said Price is "not probation or local jail material.”
