SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Some animals at the Potawatomi Zoo were excited over an Easter egg hunt of their own.

The chimpanzees got some holiday treats on Sunday morning when Easter eggs and baskets were scattered throughout their habitat.

Hidden inside were dried fruits, nuts and even some marshmallows.

The baskets were also filled with shredded paper, which the chimps had to dig through to get to their treats.

It did not take them long to catch on to how the hunt worked.

Zookeepers say the fun event is good for the animals.

The Easter baskets were put together by zoo visitors during an enrichment event on Saturday.
