Two people from LaPorte County face federal charges after drugs, stolen property, and illegal firearms were seized from their home.
Recently a search warrant was executed at a home near Saugany Lake in LaPorte County.
Joseph Olivo, 32, and Hayle Doty, 24, were both arrested and taken to the St. Joseph County Jail. They are now awaiting federal charges in relation to dealing marijuana, possession of cocaine, methamphetamine, stolen property, and a firearm by a convicted felon.
Police seized more than hundreds pounds of marijuana, more than five grams of cocaine, and three handguns. One of the handguns had been reported stolen in the state of Michigan. Also more than one hundred fifty thousand dollars in cash was found in the home.
The investigation was initiated by Elkhart County and then La Porte County Metro Operations, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration got involved.
