Police are searching for the person responsible for flooding the home of a Niles couple.

It reportedly happened while Dale and Flora Arnold were on vacation, according to the Niles Daily Star.

They came home to find 36,000 gallons of water had ruined many of their basement rooms.

Michigan State Police believe someone intentionally turned on an outdoor faucet and left it on for about a week.

Anyone with information about the crime can call the Niles Post for the Michigan State Police.
