Police search for suspects in a car theft in Mishawaka

You could be the key to solving an unusual car theft that took place Sunday night, at the Meijer Store on Grape Road.

The suspects may have taken advantage of a shopper, who casually placed his keys in the basket of his shopping cart.

When the shopper turned his attention to some produce, the cart disappeared. A short time later, his car did the same.

“If we can have any help from the public in identifying who these individuals are they can contact, Crime Stoppers or they can call the Mishawaka Police depart at 574-258-1684 and give us info so we can help either clear them of this or actually solve this case and get it taken care of,” says Lt. Tim Williams of the Mishawaka Police Department.

A picture shows a gold mini-van that may have been involved in the auto theft. The car was taken from a professional photographer.

Police are also on the lookout for his stolen camera, a Sony Digital A-700, that has sentimental value as there are wedding pictures on the camera that the photographer shot last weekend.
