Indiana state police are investigating an officer-involved accident that sent him and one other person to the hospital.
It happened just before 12:30 Friday afternoon at State Road 3 and County Road 700 south in South Milford.
Police say Lagrange County Deputy Randolph Mellinger was stopped at a stop sign heading east on County Road 700 south.
He continued into the intersection and hit a car driven by Phyllis Bellos, 65.
Mellinger suffered collar bone and arm injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
The passenger in the other car, Lampios Bellos, suffered a head injury and was transported to a Fort Wayne Hospital.
Police are still investigating.
