A routine traffic stop turned into a significant marijuana bust for the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies pulled over a vehicle near the intersection of County Road 20 and County Road 1 around 12:03 a.m. Saturday.
Police spoke with the front seat passenger, Derek Silcox, 20, of the 57500 block of Gano St. in Elkhart County. During the interview process, they discovered 117 grams of marijuana. According to police insiders, the stash had a street value of more than $600.
Silcox was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana, a class D felony.
