Police arrest man after stand-off in Coloma

Coloma, Mich. A 45-minute standoff resulted in the arrest of a Coloma man, on a variety of charges including domestic violence.

Coloma Police were called to the 200 Block of Garfield Street around 11 p.m. Monday. A woman called dispatch saying she'd been assaulted by her husband who was armed.

Police arrived to find the man inside. They surrounded the home and eventually got him to surrender voluntarily. When officers went inside, they found a nine millimeter semi-automatic pistol.

The man faces firearm charges and assault with a deadly weapon. The name of the suspect has not been released, but he is in the Berrien County Jail, pending arraignment.
