The Center for Homelessness in South Bend is getting some extra financial support as the Pokagon Fund presents a $40,000 donation to the R. L. Miller Veteran’s Center.

The Pokagon Fund is funded by the Four Winds Casino, which is owned by the Pokagon Indian tribe in New Buffalo.

A spokesman for the fund says they're making the donation to the veteran’s center partly because it is part of tribal culture to hold veterans in high regard.

The fund has given more than $13 million to various projects since its founding in 2007.
