A Plymouth man has died after his clothing got caught in a shaft connecting an engine and pump on an irrigation device.

61-year-old Rick Pertics of Plymouth, owner of Pertics' Blueberry Plantation, was killed Monday in a field west of LaPaz. It happened near the intersection of 1A and Oak Road.

Pertics reportedly told his wife he was tending to the irrigation equipment during the night. His family was unable to reach him Monday morning and discovered the body next to the irrigation equipment.

The final autopsy results are expected in the next six weeks.
