Plymouth High School and John Glenn High School are being honored as two of the best in the state.
U.S. News and World Report ranked Plymouth as the 12th best high school in Indiana.
John Glenn was not far behind, earning a 17th place ranking.
U.S. News and World Report uses a three-step process to determine their rankings.
The first two steps ensure that schools serve their students by taking into account state proficiency tests.
The third step assesses the degree to which the school prepares students for college-level work.
Plymouth High School's 12th place ranking qualifies the school for a "silver medalist" designation. This is the second time it has received that honor.
Plymouth was also named a Bronze Medalist High School in 2010.
