Elkhart, Ind. Police are investigating, after a pick-up truck hits an Elkhart apartment building.

It happened just before 8 p.m. in the 1100 block of North Michigan Street.

No residents are currently living inside the home. Neighbors say the building had been vacant for some time.

There were, however, people living in the residences on either side.

The car reportedly came from Randolph Street and crashed into the building, driving inside, breaking windows in the back and rear.

Neighbors say they feel lucky the truck did not hit one of several occupied homes nearby.

"But he came flying down Randolph and went airborn, and just went right through the house. There's no skid marks or nothing," said neighbor John Randall.

The driver of the truck was reportedly injured, but the extent of the injuries is not known.
