Phone scam targets 1st Source Bank customers

NewsCenter16 has received numerous emails and phone calls about a new scam targeting 1st Source Bank customers.

Customers get a phone call from a number with area code 702. An automated message then plays, saying that the customer’s MasterCard or account has been deactivated and he or she needs to dial the number 1 and put in the card number to reactivate it.

Customers have also reported “100” or “300” showing up in their caller ID’s when they receive the calls.

Anyone who receives such a phone call should hang up immediately.

It is advised to never give an account or card numbers over the phone, as there is a good chance that it may be a scam.
