One person is dead after a four-alarm fire in Kosciusko County.
It happened in the 2-thousand block of Chapman Lake Drive.
Investigators say two families lived inside the home, with half of the home being rented. The Kosciusko County Coroner’s office located the remains of a body in the rubble after 2 p.m. today, and will be transporting it to the North East Indiana Forensic Center, St. Joe Hospital, Fort Wayne, for positive identification
Two others were inside at the time, but escaped without any injuries.
It took five fire departments close to four hours to put out the blaze.
A ruptured gas line and falling power lines made fighting the fire more difficult.
The Kosciusko County Red Cross is helping both families who are now displaced. They were also on hand to provide relief for the firefighters.
No word on what may have caused the fire.
