The Michiana Parrot Heads are partnering with another local chapter, the Lake Michigan Land Sharks to "party with a purpose."
The two chapters, part of a nation-wide service organization that centers around the common theme and love for musician, Jimmy Buffet, are raising funds for the Therapeutic Equestrian Center in Watervilet, MI.
The event takes place starting Friday, at 3p.m. (hey, it's 5 o'clock somewhere!) and goes through Sunday, ranging in activities from an indoor pool Mai Tai luau, musical performances, fire dancers, to silent auctions and more.
TEC is an organization dedicated to enhancing the physical, emotional and social well-being of special needs children and adults through horseback riding lessons and therapeutic horse related activities. TEC has also received a grant from the Upton Foundation that will match funds raised (up to $6,000) at the weekend luau event.
