One man is dead after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck Thursday afternoon in Elkhart County. It happened just before 3 o'clock, about five miles south of the Goshen city limits.
Police say 33 year-old Ronald Pegan II, of Goshen, was driving his Harley Davidson north on State Road 15, when he tried to get around a car that was stopped to make a turn.
As Pegan passed that vehicle, a pickup traveling south on State Road 15 began to turn east onto County Road 146.
The driver, 34 year-old Christopher Kupeerus of New Paris, didn't see the motorcycle, and Pegan crashed his bike into the passenger side of the truck. Pegan was taken to the hospital, where he later died from internal injuries. Kupeerus wasn't hurt.
No citations were issued on the scene, but the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department continues to investigate.
