South Bend Metro Homicide is investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday night.
It happened just before midnight in the 300 block of Chestnut Street in South Bend, near Napier St.
South Bend officers were originally dispatched due to a domestic dispute.
When they got there, authorities say they found 48-year-old Wayne Anderson with a gunshot wound when they arrived. Officers attempted CPR but he died at the hospital a short time later.
The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit was called to investigate the shooting. They got a search warrent for the home and witnesses and a suspect was interviewed.
Wayne's brother, 54-year-old William Anderson, pictured to the right, was arrested at 3:45 a.m. Thursday on a preliminary charge of voluntary manslaughter.
According to St. Joseph County Metro Homicide, under Indiana law, that means "a person who knowingly kills another person while acting under sudden heat." It is a class A felony, which carries a 20-50 year sentence.
