One man airlifted to hospital after motorcycle crash

Cass County, Mich. A man had to be airlifted to a South Bend hospital after a crash involving a car and motorcycle in Cass County, Michigan.

It happened just after 6 p.m. Thursday in Mason Township at the intersection of Kessington Road and Mason Street.

Twenty-four-year-old Kristy Barks of Cassopolis was driving south on Kessington and says she stopped at the stop sign but didn't see the motorcycle driving east on Mason Street.

The two collided, sending the motorcycle sliding into another vehicle stopped at the intersection.

Forty-three year old Michael Alwine of White Pigeon was air-lifted to the hospital. He is in critical but stable condition as of Friday morning. Police tell us he was not wearing a helmet.

Everyone in the cars was wearing seat belts and no one was injured.
