One person is dead after an accident in Elkhart County.
It happened around 6:48 p.m. on County Road 50 between County Road 33 and County Road 35.
A jeep liberty was passing a horse-drawn buggy when the driver crashed head-on into a moped.
The moped was broken into multiple pieces, the 20-year-old driver, Jeremy Yates of Nappanee, pronounced dead on the scene.
A passenger in the jeep, 28-year-old Melissa Yoder of Ligonier was airlifted to a hospital for back injuries. Two others, 20-year-old William Perry of Goshen, and Randell Purtell, also 20, of Milford, were airlifted for head and back injuries.
All three are expected to recover.
