UPDATE: Woman ID'd in fatal car, train accident

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, IND. -- Police have identified the woman who died after her car collided with a train in St. Joseph County Sunday morning.

It happened around 7:45 a.m. at the Norfolk Southern railroad crossing on Quince Road, just south of Edison Road.

Police say 60-year-old Vicky Long, of South Bend, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her two dogs also died in the accident.

Lt. Matt Blank with the St. Joseph County police department says it appears Long went around the downed crossing arm as the train was approaching the railroad crossing.

Toxicology results are pending and police continue to investigate.
