One South Bend Police Chief search finalist interviewing in North Dakota

One of the finalists in South Bend's Police Chief search is interviewing in North Dakota for the same job.

Christopher Elg has been a Chief of Police or a Public Safety Director for the last 17 years. He's worked in West Monroe, Louisiana since 2004.

Our sister station, KMOT in Bismarck, is reporting that Elg is in the running with two other finalists for the Police Chief job in Bismarck.

Other finalists for the job here in South Bend are, Bruce Marquis who works for the Department of State, and has been a Chief of Police in two mid-size U.S. cities, Hartford, Connecticut and most recently, Norfolk, Virginia.

And Ronald Teachman is a 34-year veteran of the New Bedford, Massachusetts PD, where he just wrapped up a five-year run as Police Chief in 2011.
