The storm didn't seem like it impacted the ‘On the River’ event in downtown south bend this evening.
Saturday night was the 21 and over beach party with all the proceeds benefiting the Center for the Homeless.
When the storm rolled in, hundreds of party goers had somewhere to go thanks to preparation from organizers.
“Fortunately, we had a well crafted contingency plan that allowed us to smoothly and effectively vacate people over to the chamber of commerce building and we were able to wait there and wait it out until it passed by,” said Garrett Gingerich, the event organizer.
Organizers tell Newscenter 16 that despite the weather, attendance was very good - many of those who left because of the storm came back a little later.
