Public servants like police officers, firefighters and emergency room workers often don't get to take holidays.
That's why on this Labor Day, Olive Garden decided to say "thank you" to those who watch over our community, by providing them with a hearty meal.
More than 750 of the chain's U.S. restaurants delivered and served special lunches to first responders.
Clay Fire Territory fire crews got to devour plates from the Mishawaka Olive Garden. Firefighters chowed-down on lasagna, spaghetti, and of course, plenty of bread sticks.
“On Labor Day we are just thanking for those who are giving back to us everyday, who go out and are fighting fires and are keeping our communities safe,” said Danielle Reid, Olive Garden waitress. “So on Labor Day, it was just our way of coming out and saying thank you to those who are doing so much for us.”
Today marked the 11th straight year Olive Garden has delivered Labor Day lunches.
