A new choice is coming to your television, and it’s full of old favorites.
Starting on Monday, Channel 16 will begin airing Antenna TV on its multicast, Channel 16.2.
It will be a mix of classic television shows and movies with some lovable characters, cheesy costumes and classic TV moments.
From Jimmy to Archie to the Three Stooges, these programs will bring back fond memories from years ago.
And viewers are already excited.
“It's bringing back a lot of great memories, we've received phone calls and emails thanking us for this, before it’s even started,” said WNDU General Manager John O’Brien. “We're really pleased with it.”
O’Brien says that the station had been looking for something special to multicast on Channel 16.2 and Antenna TV was a perfect fit.
“This is an arrangement that is made between us and Tribune Broadcasting, the channel, the program I should say is actually fed out of WGN in Chicago,” O’Brien said. “So we now have a relationship with them to bring antenna TV to the South Bend market.”
The agreement also gives WNDU some flexibility in providing additional news, sports and weather programming.
“We'll have an opportunity every hour to provide 30 seconds of weather we'll be doing that 24/7, 365 days a year,” said O’Brien.
And if you’re looking for antenna TV on cable, we have a listing at WNDU.com or you can simply contact your cable provider for the channel. You can always watch it for free with an antenna. Just rescan your TV tuner and look for 16.2.
The program lineup will change, so viewers will be treated to new shows that are old favorites.
Weekend viewers will also be able to see NBC’s Today Show which is going to be multicast during 16 Saturday Morning on 16.2.
The antenna TV begins on Monday, July 1.
