While many folks are taking down Christmas light displays, some Osceola residents are hoping theirs will stay up through Jan. 7.
They've built a large lit sign that reads, "ND #1"
15-year-old Noah Hanlon got the idea from the #1 sign that sits atop Grace Hall.
"We just got a piece of paper and, next thing I know, we're just drawing out this huge plan," Noah said.
After a week of construction in the garage with Kevin Pritchard, that plan came to life.
The letters on the sign are 4 feet tall, while the 1 measures up at 6 feet.
It's caught the attention of dozens of drivers who pass by the sign on Beech Road.
"A guy stopped and got his camera phone out and took a picture, he said it looked great," Noah said.
The pair is hoping the Irish will play well enough Jan. 7 that the sign will have to stay up a bit longer.
They've been anxiously awaiting kickoff for weeks.
"It's anybody's game out there," Pritchard said. "It's not over until the last whistle, so we'll see."
