The University of Notre Dame is welcoming a new edition to its faculty and administration. On March 1, the university announced that Roger Huang has been offered the position of the Mendoza College of Business.

Prior to coming to South Bend, Huang earned his master’s and Ph.D. in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He went on to become a faculty member of Purdue University’s finance department before accepting appointments at the University of Florida and Vanderbilt University.

In 2000, Notre Dame named Huang the Kenneth R. Meyer Professor of Global investment Management. He has since served eight years as chair of the finance department, and then as an Associate Dean in the Mendoza College from 2008 until 2011.

Huang has been the interim dean of the business school since Jan. 2012 after Carolyn Woo left Notre Dame to become the President and CEO of Catholic Relief Services. His tenure as dean will officially begin July 1.
