Notre Dame Students reaction to Manti's ESPN interview
After Manti's ESPN interview late Friday night, much of the Notre Dame Community is still standing behind its star athlete.
Many students were behind him from the moment this scandal broke, saying if the University officials believed Manti's story, they did too.
Now after hearing more details about his relationship with Lennay Kekua, student confidence is further enhanced.
“I think a lot of people were confused at the beginning because it is such a bizarre story but once we heard the truth, I think everyone is on Manti's side,” says Notre Dame Student Bridget Curran.
“I think his story is very believable and there is definitely that stigma with online relationships,” says Notre Dame Student Mia Eppler. “So, it is very understandable that he came out and said he exaggerated his relationship a little bit.”
