Police are still searching for suspects after a violent home invasion on Thursday in St. Joseph County.
Three men, posing as utility workers, broke into the home beating and robbing the homeowners.
It happened just after 11 a.m. in the 5300 of Hickory Road near University Park Mall.
The men came to their door wearing orange safety vests and claimed there was a gas leak in the neighborhood, and they had to come inside to check things out.
After inspecting the furnace, the men pulled out their guns. A struggle ensued between the victims and the three suspects.
One of the men even fatally shot the couple's three-month-old pit bull.
Police are looking for this white SUV, likely a newer Chevy Suburban with tinted windows.
The victim described the three suspects as black men in their mid-30s around 6 ft. tall and 250 pounds.
No arrests have been made in the case.
