A Niles school is investigating an alleged gun threat.
According to the Niles Daily Star, a parent filed a report with police upset about the way Ring Lardner Middle School handled the situation on Tuesday.
The seventh-grader claims another student told him he was going to bring a gun to school and shoot him. Other students reportedly also heard the threat and brought it to school officials.
The student's mother claims the school didn't notify her of the incident, which remains under investigation. She did not send her son to school on Thursday out of concern for his safety.
